“African Kindness”

Impatient people waiting in queues, irritable children demanding instant gratification, narcissistic motorists dashing through red traffic lights, meaningless loss of life for a few meagre household items. ‘Cry our beloved country’, is this the ‘new norm’ for our motherland?

Switch on the television, open the newspaper or read News 24; there appears to be doom and gloom on every page. If an article is not about crime, it is about the government's failures or all the reasons why emigration looks good. As human beings we seem to be attracted to the drama, the scandal, the horror or the macabre, so what will it take to change our negative African mindset to a more positive one.

Kyalami Prep Newsletter 10 - 2019

A warm welcome back for the final term of the year. The warmer weather, lighter mornings, and new leaves and blossoms sprouting on the trees make coming to school a pleasure in the mornings.

This promises to be a busy term with the Inter-house Athletics and the Kyalami Schools Girls’ hockey events being held during the first week of term.
